About Ellana

Hello readers!

At the start of my research I was quite overwhelmed because I was beginning to see the various opinions and informtaion that was out there. There seemed to be no right or wrong answer but rather theories and in fact multiple answers with behavior and humans. Right now this may sound strange but without giving too much detail here, I want you all to know that though some information  may seem more accurate to you, there isn't a total right answer. We often find the better answer for us is ones we agree with and I had to almost take a step back and not form my own opinions about one concept. Especially relating back to psychology and human behavior with money, many researches and scientist have found multiple reasons why humans act how they do towards money which leaves a lot of gray areas... but that's okay!

Welcome to Our Research page

Each of us has their own page dedicated to their work for this inquiry project. The Behavior page is done by Ellana, The Theory page is done by Natalia, and The History page is done by Larissa. The Bigger Picture page was done by all of us together. The Ted Talk page offers some interesting view points on money.

About Larissa

Hi readers!

I thought that it would be interesting to find out about the history of money. you know like how did we go from trading to using coins and stuff like that. My reasearch took me places I hadn't even thought of such as the appearence of banking and the role that has played in the growth of money. There isn't much on the internet that I could find about money and its history so most of the information I got was from articles, documentarys, and Ted Talks.

About Natalia

Hey you guys!

For my portion of this research/inquiry project, my job was to cover theory and the possibilities of a world without money. I found this rather hard to do because not that many people are talking about this. It was difficult to find concrete evidence to back up what most people were theorizing. However, what was great about researching this aspect of the topic, MOney’s Influence on Humanity, was that it was completely limitless. You will find that mos tof the information on the theory page contradicts itself. This is okay! I had to realize that “theory” is exactly that, it’s a way of trying to explain the unknow. Given the fact that we don’t live in a world without money, all we can do is evaluate as many DIFFERENT possibilities as we can to try and find one that makes the most sense. I really enjoyed doing this research because it overlapped into my two other group members topics very well. I got to look into human psychology and money’s influence and also the history and development of money. Some great examples of how money influences society in context of our current time, check out the videos I posted on the BLOG page and on my individual page on theory.
