Theory

Since beginning my research I have identified three major traits that affect the way money influences a person's life. These traits are: environment, personality or psychology, and work ethic. The theory most people have about a world without money is that without money the world would be chaos and no one would have the motivation to do any work because there is no incentive. There are many different theories about the way the world would be had money never developed. It is said that humans actually prefer verbal affirmation and praise for good deeds and hard work than a tangible reward so maybe that’s all the incentive they need. If we all worked together towards a common goal and our work ethic was directed towards making the world a better place rather than for self gain, maybe we wouldn’t need money. Could we all get up in the morning and go to work and direct our energy productively to accomplish everything we do now if we didn’t have a paycheck hanging over us as the reward? This is something we must think about while examining the possibilities of a world without money.

This quote by Thomas Jefferson to the left is an example of how money and its influence has been questioned since long before any of us were even born. People have become blind to the reality that money controls our lives.
